Description
PE
PETG (Polyethylene terephthalate) is easy to print with. It produces very strong and shock resistant parts. Common household applications include fibres in clothing, containers for liquids and foods. (Although 3D printing is not recommended for reusable food applications.) And is also used in engineering resins.
Relatively easy to print and a good option for a replacement for ABS. Prints with a good glossy finish and semi translucent.
Due to the strong interlayer bonding and higher flexibility, PETG is a good option for parts that are likely to endure strain or shock (like a quad copter crash or childrens toys.) It’s great mechanical properties and ease of printing make PETG the ‘go to’ material for everyday printing of mechanical objects where impact resistance is required or where ABS warping would be a problem.
Printing tips for PETG
- Print Settings Similar to PLA (except Temp)
- Print Normal Speeds
- Fan = off (50% for small objects)
- Absorbs water. Dry in Electric Fan Forced Oven 70deg C for aprox 4 hours
